Good News!

Good news.  In a time when good news is scarce, good news!

Father Ed MacNeil’s faculties for the Archdiocese of Ottawa have been revoked.  I received the following email late this afternoon  from Msgr. Kevin Beach, Chancellor and Vicar General of the Diocese:

Dear Mrs. MacEachern,

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.

I can advise you that Fr. MacNeil’s faculties for the Archdiocese of Ottawa have been revoked.

Msgr Kevin Beach

Vicar General & Chancellor

Archdiocese of Ottawa

This means that convicted child molester Father MacNeil omi will no longer be saying Mass or hearing confessions in the Archdiocese of Ottawa.  I turst that means he will no longer have opportunity to be around children and young people.

Well done Grandma.  You followed your instincts, and you spoke up.  Well done 🙂

So, that spares the faithful of the services of  Fathers Michael J Walsh and Ed MacNeil omi.  How many more who shouldn’t be there are in our sanctuaries?  But, for now, good news 🙂

Enough for now,

Sylvia

That is very good news Sylvia.

Thank you for posting that important info.

This is wonderful news. We have every right to question and research who is on the altar. Catholics everywhere should be researching the names of the priests ministering at their parish. This is OUR church.

    I agree, good job, Grandma!!

After fighting the good fight here in Newfoundland to expose pedophile priest Michael J. Walsh, nobody from the parish concerned, no one in the office of the Archdiocese, and no one in the media has followed up to provide the public with any updates or reactions — except Sylvia, who found out Walsh has evidently left the province. Nor has there been any response to the revelation that Bishop Lahey and the present Archbishop Currie have been associated in the past.

In the meantime, the famous and wildly popular Premier Danny Williams leaves public office in a blaze of glory — a practising Catholic, who has never in his tenure made a stand on a single moral issue or spoken out on a single injustice. Instead he has made it ‘cool’ to be a bully.

I know his parish priest, the one who makes jokes in the service about getting drunk on St. Patrick’s Day. So I don’t expect he ever says a word to him, one way or another.

    Proposition for debate:

    CHURCH PSYCHOSIS:
WHAT HAPPENS TO PEOPLE WHO CANNOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN REALITY AND ILLUSION?

Actually Cheryl the last news I had on Father Walsh was that he was relocating to Conception Bay South in c/o Father William Pomroy. I trust that does not entail assisting at Mass!
