Time for a rest

Perry Dunlop is a political prisoner. He has spent 185 days in jail – for stepping up to the plate to protect children, and then daring to say he has lost faith in the justice system. This is the institutional response to allegations of childhood sexual abuse.

The press conference for today has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 10 am.  Roger Robertson, the little man with the big heart, just pulled in on the outskirts of Ottawa at 4: 20 pm.   In good traffic it’s an hour’s drive from here to the Harley dealership, in rush hour it’s an hour-and-half or more – too much after a gruelling 36-hour ride.

Roger is tired.  Time for a rest.

Perry has been transferred to the Don Valley jail.  “The Don” is the worst of the worst.  Perry was moved this morning.  As usual, no advance notice.  ‘Pack your bags, you’re going.’

Judges give inmates in the Don triple time served.  That’s how bad it is. Perry of course is different.  No time served for Perry  – not even straight time – so no difference. Perry will serve two more weeks in that den of iniquity. He’s served his time, now overtime at the Don.

Write to Perry.  He needs a few words of support now more than ever

More when I can.  Have to put some food in this man’s stomach 🙂

Enough for now,
