SUPERIOR, Wis. (WTAQ) – A Catholic priest from Superior who’s being investigated for sexual abuse reportedly wrote letters to another priest that described his encounters.
The Duluth News-Tribune obtained the letters written by 77-year-old Reverend Robert Urban. The letters were written about 1980 – and they explained sex acts involving strangers and other priests. Urban is retired but he continues to be a helper in several parishes.
The Superior Diocese suspended him last month while police continue an investigation. The News-Tribune said it received Urban’s letters from Anne Godin, whose late husband obtained them while writing a book about priests. She said an attorney confirmed in 1987 that Urban actually wrote the letters. He and the diocese have not commented
How sick is this? He surely must have known the other priest would be receptive – perhaps eveb titillated?
