PHILADELPHIA — A Roman Catholic nun has testified that she and two relatives were sexually abused by the same priest as girls.

The nun says all three went to the Philadelphia Archdiocese in 1991 to ask that he be removed.

She says they met with Monsignors James Malloy and William Lynn of the Office for Clergy. The nun says she felt “misled” because the priest was put on leave but allowed to say Mass elsewhere.

A 2005 grand jury accused him of raping or molesting 11 girls.

The nun says she talked to Lynn again in 1998. Lynn is now charged with child-endangerment for allegedly leaving abusers in ministry. Malloy has died.

The nun says Lynn could have left his job if he did not have the power to make things right.

If they’re talking about the same safe, the previous understanding was that the safe was opened by a locksmith after the death of Cardinal Bevilacqua in January of this year.

What’s going on with this one?

Seems to me that both Lynn and Irish Cardinal Brady should resign. They should also both be arrested. I’m not really sure if they should serve time in prison; however the Church should serve time. The Catholic Church should be dealt with in the courts, fined heavily, and be given a “three sentence” to come clean, clean up its act, help all abuse victims, and…. if it can financially survive after that,….. then start again……/and if Catholics wish to return, then so be it.

Am I being too harsh? Please tell me.
