The Roman Catholic authorities in Malta have expressed their sorrow over the sexual abuse of children in its care at St Joseph’s Home in Santa Venera, as well as over the excessive time its own investigations into the case took.
Two priests, Charles Pulis and Godwin Scerri, were jailed for 6 and 5 years respectively after they were convicted of abusing boys at the Santa Venera home in the early 1990s.
In a brief statement, the Malta Archdiocese asked for forgiveness from both the victims and from society, and said that Archbishop Pawlu Cremona would soon meet the victims to ask for forgiveness in person.
It urged anyone who was aware of the abuse of minors to report, and insisted that it had strengthened its own internal structures to prevent future abuses, and to deal with them more rapidly if they do occur.
In a separate statement, the Missionary Society of St Paul’s, which runs St Joseph’s Home and which the 2 priests formed part of, announced that Fr Pulis has been defrocked by the Pope – a decision which could not be appealed – although he will remain incorporated in the MSSP. When the allegations first surfaced in 2003, the priest had been barred from public ministry as a precautionary measure.

NO, I for one WILL never forgive you. Especially for this case, and many other things, like ”LE GHAD-DIVORZJU” |

In my opinion the main reason Chriss Camilleri comments “NO, I for one Will never forgive you . . . ” is because the Church has created their own standard of PUNIHMENTS and FORGIVENESS, when the HOLY BIBLE FORBIDS this. “Go and sin no more” therefore has no meaning now, because people judge as they are judged. The TRUTH to me is people have been living under delusions for too long. Please read the BIBLE |
So Pulis is defrocked. Hallelujah!
Now, what abot Scerri? Why no word on him? I believe he is no longer with the Missionaries Society of St. Paul and is a diocesan priest so it is not for the order to address his status. But, why no word from the diocese saying thast he too is defrocked?
Let’s hope and pray we will hear the same good news on Scerri today or tommorow as we have just heard on Pulis.
I just read that the biblical way of punishment is ‘go and sin no more’. I guess those accused priest will like that, maybe some bishops tried that and are now been accused of ‘cover up’. What will the next charge be when the pope issues a letter saying go and sin no more. I think the word is justice, how about that?
