(NOTE:   since this article was posted Father Ed MacNeil’s faculties for the Archdiocese of Ottawa were revoked:  30 November 2010:  BLOG Good News!  Furthermore, in response to question posed, I was advised by Ottawa”s Vicar General & Chancellor Monisgnor Kevin Beach on 07 December 2010  that

“Fr. MacNeil received faculties during the time of Archbishop Gervais’ ministry.  Therefore, the faculties were in place when Archbishop Prendergast arrived in 2007.  When our present Archbishop [Prendergast] learned of Fr. MacNeil’s history, he instructed that his faculties be revoked.”  )
