GUELPH — A retired Guelph priest charged with two sexual assaults dating back to the early 80s’ will return to court April 12.
James Boudreau’s matter was in Guelph’s provincial court Tuesday and an agent acting on his behalf had it adjourned for about a month. The 67-year-old former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church pastor wasn’t present.
The priest worked at the east-end Catholic church from 1978 to 1985 before going on to work at six other Ontario churches, including St. John’s Catholic Church in Kitchener.
One of the sexual assault complaints date back to 1983 and the other complaint dates back to 1984.
Boudreau was granted bail earlier this month under conditions that he reside in his Hamilton apartment and have no contact with the complainants. He is also to stay away from youths under 18, unless in the company of an adult.
