This is a heads up to let you know that Sylvia’s Site will probably be disappearing on Sunday.:( This is an alert and an opportunity for those of you who wish to retain information from the site to do so.
Unfortunately there are issues which have arisen with my host’s need to transfer the site to another server, and it seems that said transfer will probably cause problems unless a series of steps are taken by me to avert those problems. This is all technical stuff which I really don’t understand, but which once upon a time I would have eventually been able to figure out enough to sort out what I need to do and get it done. 🙂 For reasons which I shall touch on now, I just have not been able to do what needs to be done.
It has been a rather wild and very unpredictable number of months in our household. I had major surgery in May, the culmination of health problems which started nearly a year ago. The surgery was truly a breeze – I had the good fortune to be blessed with a fantastic surgeon and of course the marvels of laparoscopic surgery.
All was going very very well.
Alas, I was home all of four days when my husband took ill and in very short order was diagnosed with cancer. There were weeks upon weeks of hospitals and tests and x-rays and doctors. And of course biopsies.
It is lung cancer: small cell carcinoma. Sadly, the cancer has metastasized to multiple locations throughout his poor dear body, including the bone.
Chemo has been started. We now head off to the hospital every three weeks where Mike receives IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and then it’s home where he follows on with chemo pills for five more days.
The past few months have been a bit of an emotional roller coaster. However, amidst the trials and tribulations there have been a multitude of blessings, and the constant recognition that we have so very much to be thankful for.
In closing, please keep my dear husband and me in your prayers.
And please know that if indeed Sylvia’s Site disappears either for a spell of permanently on Sunday my love, thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you now and always.
Sylvia
