Another ‘read it and weep’

The following article has been added to the Father Robert White page:

21 April 2010:  Scots hoops tradition is legendary

So now we know that Father White was  a basketball coach at Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School, Sherwood Park, Alberta from at least 1975 to 1977.    I have also been told that he was Principal at the school.

In the process of adding that information and checking old directories I discovered that he was listed in the 1973-74 Canadian Catholic Church Directory as Vallery White.  At that time his address was listed as 265 First Street, Sherwood Park, Alberta.  Was he Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School at the time?   It’s highly possible, but I am not certain. If anyone can provide further information please pass it along

Any word yet on Father Jacques Faucher sentence?  The judge was to release his decision today at 2 pm?

I know, it’s only 4:20 pm   now, so perhaps a little early, but there should be word fairly soon.  If anyone sees or hears anything please post a comment or let me know.

And, please continue to keep the victims in your prayers

The preliminary hearing for previously convicted and currently incarcerated former church organist Brian Lucy is scheduled for tomorrow:

26 January 2017: 10, am. Preliminary Hearing, courtroom #2, Brockville Ontario courthouse (41 Court House Square)

I encourage those who can do so to attend.  It is a preliminary hearing so there will be a ban on publication of testimony and evidence, but the public can attend.

Please keep the complainants in your prayers.

There is a pre-trial hearing for previously convicted ex-priest Donald Grecco tomorrow

26 January 2017:  pre-trial hearing (NOT open to the public), courtroom #1, Robert S. K. Welch St Catharine’s courthouse, St. Catharine’s, Ontario (59 Church St.)

This is NOT open to the public.  I will check on Thursday for the next scheduled court date.

As always, please keep the complainants in your prayers.

Someone kindly sent along a link regarding charges against an “alleged” molester being thrown out/stayed in Manitoba because of what was termed an “unreasonable delay” going to trial.   Manitoba has set a 30 month deadline for cases to get to trial from the time charges are laid.

Read this and weep.  I shall try to get it posted on the site later.

And s0, another suspect child molester  walks on a technicality!  Yes, I say another.  It happens more often than it should in this country.  Alas, and, Heaven forbid,  ….it’s legal!! Judges approve.

This is the concern I was expressing yesterday regarding the Marcel Lalonde case in Cornwall.  It will be close to four years before it wraps up.  Has Lalonde’s lawyer waived – in writing –  his, Lalonde’s,  right to file for a stay on the basis that his client’s right to a speedy trial have been violated?  I hope and pray that he has.

Keep the complainant in your prayers.

Enough for now,

Sylvia
