Father Robyn Gwyn
There are two up-coming court dates for Father Robyn Gwyn:
16 December 2016: 09:30 am, Assignment Court, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, 5 Court Street, Kingston
27 January 2017: 09:30 am, “to be spoken to,” Ontario Superior Court of Justice, 5 Court Street, Kingston
Both are open to the public. Please mark your calendars and do try to get there if you can so that we can keep tabs on what is happening. The 16 December date should be fairly short but will hopefully give an idea of when at least one sentencing hearing will be set. It sounds as though the sentencing for each of the two cases will proceed separately because a different judge presided at each trial.
I don’t understand why the January court date is “to be spoken to.” Given the time I shall try to find out.
Please keep the victims in your prayers.

Here are links to the decision to which I referred yesterday: the Bathurst Diocese(New Brunswick) loses its bid for recompense from its former insuring agent, Aviva:
Diocese of Bathurst loses bid to recoup $3.3 million from former insurer AVIVA
Sorry, I had to break it down into three parts: try as I might I was unable to post it in its completion, or even in to parts. But, the decision is there, in its entirety.
I mentioned too that was jotting down notes. I broke from that for a spell to get the document ready to post. That has been accomplished 🙂 There is still a little left to be done so will carry on. I do want to be able to post the significant numbers as well as the Father Levi Noel – now thankfully albeit belatedly defrocked MR. Levi Noel – recycling and cover-up saga. Once done I shall post for easier viewing.
There is a little information on serial molester Father Charles Picot, but not too terribly much. Strange as it seems, there was apparently no record of his ‘misbehaviour’ over the years? Ditto the many other clerical molesters identified as such but, alive or dead, un-named and therefore protected.
No matter. I commend all those of you who spoke out over the years. Without you we would know nothing of this scandal and the magnitude of both the problem and the cover-up. Any such talk would probably be categorized as no more than “rumour and innuendo.”
Do you see what a difference you voice and courage has made? Look what you have done. Not only were you startling to shift the burden of shame you carried for so many years off your own shoulders and onto those of your molester (and those who covered up for him), but your courage has given others the strength and courage to speak out. I’ve been thinking abour this, and realized the obvious: all of you who came forward have forced the diocese to beg for money and finally bring it to this. It’s out in the public domain. Not all of it, but it’s a good start. So, please know and never for a moment forget that your voices have been heard. For that, we thank you!! Yes, thanks to the bishops and diocesan officials we are still in the dark regarding the names of the other molesters. For whatever reason the diocese wants to keep those names hush hush – top secret. Perhaps a misguided attempt to preserve ‘good’ reputations, or defend the indefensible? I don;t known. I fail to understand the secrecy and abysmal failure of Church officials to see the import of publicizing those names. If they want to ‘evangelize’ and reach countless ‘lost souls’ – here’s a starting point. Family members, countless husbands, wives, sons, daughters, mothers and fathers need to know and understand what happened to those they love (d), and, yes, countless victims need to finally know they are not the only one. We pray for that day.
Please keep the many victims in the Bathurst Diocese in your prayers.

Winter really is here. The furnace is humming away in the background. Air conditioner is silent. Ditto dehumidifiers! Honestly, I’m truly not sure that I’m ready for winter 🙁 I love the snow, and love the beauty it brings to the landscape, – but, brrrrr – must confess that I hate the cold 🙁
And, dare I ask how many weeks/days to Christmas?
Time is flying….
Enough for now,
Sylvia
