The Father Robyn Gwyn sex abuse trial wrapped up yesterday afternoon.
04 August 2016: Sexual touching’ is ‘issue’ in trial
Justice Wolfram Tausendfreund will render his verdict 29 September 2016 at 1o am. The judge ruled that Father Gwyn can now return to Nova Scotia and does NOT have to return to Kingston for the verdict. Gwyn lives in the Berwick area of the Annapolis Valley.
I will post my comments on yesterday’s events a little later. For now, for those who wondered about Father’s hasty departure from the Kingston Archdiocese in the Spring of 2004, yes, he had been reported. In fact, the archdiocese had been told by a family member that Father Gwyn had sexually abused a young boy. ( “Rev. Robin F.Q.J. Gwyn retires as Pastor of the parish of St. Mary, Carleton Place, and is on indefinite leave from active ministry [effective 3 May 2004]). “ It was on the heels of this that Gwyn was assessed by an Ottawa psychiatrist and disclosed that he, Gwyn, had sexually molested a number of boys age 14 to 16.
As always. please keep the complainant in your prayers.
Enough for now,
Sylvia
