Deferred Adjudication for Grimard?

The word I have is that Canadian Oblate  Father Rocky Grimard received  6 months of deferred adjudication.

If you google “deferred adjudication Texas” you will see that it is a sort of probation – if probation is successfully served the case is ‘dismissed.”  There is a guilty plea, but not a conviction – the judge instead ‘defers’ the finding of guilt.  Under Texas law a Deferred Adjudication is not viewed as a conviction.  A record of the charge remains, as does the record of Deferred Adjudication, but, no record of a conviction.

Tomorrow I shall try to find out a little more about Father Grimard’s status with the courts.

The next court date for Father Denis Vaillancourt‘-,  the former Chancellor of the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall – is:

09 December 2015: 9 am, first appearance court, Alexandria, Ontario courthouse (110 Main St. North)

Please keep the complainant in your prayers.

Enough for now,

Sylvia
