And yet more charges for ex-priest and previously convicted child molester Donald Grecco:
14 October 2015: More sex charges for disgraced ex-priest Grecco” & related article
I commend all three complainants for finding the courage to speak up and report to police. Stay strong. Please, all of you who follow Sylvia’s Site, keep these men and their families in your prayers. They will need your prayers in the months which lie ahead.
The Hamilton Spectator asked that anyone with information regarding the case contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or at www.helpsolvecrime.com.
The Donald Grecco page has been updated a bit more – some timelines have been added. The whole Grecco case became extremely convoluted in the midst of the previous charges when Grecco violated his bail conditions regarding residency. He would up spending time in jail after arrest because, and it seems only because, he had no one to step up to the plate and pay bail. He was charged, and eventually was found guilty. However, his sentencing on the breach was no more than an ever-so-gentle-teeny-weeny tap on the back of the hand: the 30 days he served pre-trial (because no one would bail him out) plus one day – to run concurrent.
It’s in the back of my mind that the breach related to another of the convicted molesters of St. Catharine’s Diocese and good friend of Donald Grecco, Father James Kneale. Am I mistaken?
(You may recall in fact, that Grecco, Kneale and a Father John Knight were known within the Diocese of St. Catharines to be good friends. Knight, a priest from the St. Catharines Diocese who became Auxiliary Bishop of Toronto in 1992, was quietly removed from public ministry without explanation following unspecified allegations of sexual misconduct in 2000. )
Finally, as promised a little while back, information regarding the four Grecco brothers who became priests is now posted as a pdf file.
Enough for now,
