Deacon William Kokesch will be sentenced tomorrow morning:
19 February 2015: 09:30 am, for sentencing, Montreal Quebec courthouse (1, rue Notre-Dame Est)
Kokesch, a deacon in the Archdiocese of Montreal, married man, father of five, former journalist and former communications director for Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (English sector), entered a guilty plea a year ago to charges of possessing, producing and distributing child pornography between September 2011 and November 2012.
According to media reports, Kokesch had thousands of photos and videos on his computer of children being whipped and raped by adults, as well as sexual fantasy chats with fellow child pornographers.
The minimum sentence for production and distribution of child porn is one year. The maximum is 10 years.
I encourage those who can do so to attend court. Please pass along news of the outcome.

Convicted molester Paul Leroux had his day in the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal today. The former dorm room supervisor at the Beauval Residential School in Beauval, Saskatchewan was there to appeal his conviction. The Crown was also there: to appeal the sentence.
Thanks to “just a victim” we have an excellent account here of the day’s events. To those victims who would like to have been there today but were unable to do so, you were represented. You were not forgotten.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Unfortunately we have no idea when the rulings will come on both appeals. It could be days. It could be weeks. It could be months. Let’s just pray that it is sooner rather than later.
