Excellent advance coverage

There’s excellent advance coverage of the Father Eric Dejaeger sex abuse trial from the Canadian Press today.  No less than three articles.

17 November 2013: A timeline of events in Nunavut abuse case involving former priest

17 November 2013:  What some are saying as former priest goes on trial in Nunavut

17 November 2013:  “Canada let priest Eric Dejaeger flee to Belgium amid sex abuse charges: Official” & related articles

17 November 2013:  Canada let priest charged with sex abuse leave to Belgium: Oblate official

The last two are the same.  Those who follow the site know that I usually post all the media coverage I can find for Canadian stories.  When the same article  is picked up by several media outlet  it gives us an idea of where the story is being run, at least online.  Whether or not this particular article appears in tomorrow’s print edition of the newspapers remains to be seen, but, I think maybe this one will hit a few.  I hope so.  The story needs to get out.

The trial, scheduled for five weeks, starts tomorrow morning  (Monday, 18 November 2013)  at 09:30 am in the Iqaluit courthouse, Iqaluit, Nunavut.

In this instance I won’t urge people to get to the courthouse.  I think those who are free to do so will get  there.

As always, keep the complainants in your prayers.  And, as always, please send links to any coverage of the happenings in court tomorrow.

Enough for now,

Sylvia
