And all too soon it seems we are starting the countdown to our departure – on the road home a week yesterday 🙁
You Americans certainly know how to celebrate 04 July! I have never in my life seen so many block parties and BBQ’s, – and fireworks going off absolutely everywhere, startting on the 3rd, and continuing through to the 5th. We were driving from one location to another in the city on the evening of the 4th and saw nothing but fireworks by the road and off on the horizon – everywhere the eye could see: North South, East and West. And then we settled in a backyard to watch the fireworks, and, same thing – where to watch? It was honestly a fireworks display at every one of the 360 degrees. Just amazing! And those “Chinese Lanterns| wafting across the sky! I had never seen them before. Beautiful.
Yes. A lovely day.
Then back to work on the garden. Yesterday we picked up flagstone to lay a crazy path in the garden. I somehow managed to get my ring finger in the way as one large piece of stone was dropped into place. Ouch!!! The entire tip of my finger is now a deep rich purple – doesn’t hurt now, but I was sure dancing and howling and it was throbbing for a good ten minutes after the ‘catastrophe.’
I am doing what I can to keep Sylvia’s Site at least at little up-to-date on the news while we holiday. Keep an eye on New to the site.
