Photos from Father Dan Miller’s guilty plea, 04 June 2013

I will post some of these pictures individually later today.  I had to compress them to put them together on one page – in compression clarity is lost.  For now, a few images from Father Daniel Miller’s day in court.  He went into court an “alleged” or “accused” child molester.  Thanks to the courage of a number of his victims, we can now refer to Father Miller as what he is:  a child molester.  A real honest to goodness wold in sheep’s clothing.  He fooled and deceived so many for long.  Not any more.

More later today on what happened in court.

By the way – can you believe it? – not one reporter in the courtroom.  Not one!  I don’t know if they didn’t know it was on for today, but, no – not one single reporter to catch and report the guilty pleas!

A strange day.  Troubling as always, but for very different reasons.

I have been watching your site for this post. I know I can count on you to deliver ALL the facts. I am happy to hear that this child molester has admitted his guilt. God Bless all his victims, I pray that they can begin their healing now!

    Thanks Sylvia!

    • Lina says:

Ceilidhe, yes it’s good of Sylvia get this news out.

The victims of Fr. Dan Miller are very courageous indeed.

This was said by Sylvia in her report about one of the victim’s mother.

“In 1997 Mrs. N was told by her son DN that he had been sexually abused by Father Dan Miller.

Mrs. N headed right for Pembroke. She confronted Father Miller with the allegations. Miller admitted to the abuse. He told Mrs. N he was glad the allegations were out in the open. He tried to tell Mrs. N that the abuse was not invasive – that it was only touching.

An upset Mrs. N slapped the priest in the face.”

This mother believe her son. She didn’t tell her son it was not nice to talk about a priest like that or it was better for him to keep it quiet, for the sake of the Catholic Church.

Now that is one brave Mama!

      • Suzanne Herrick-Lee says:

Yes, Lina, she did It RIGHT, also by informing the Bishop, she effectively, through her actions pulled him from a full active
Position as a Parish priest into semi seclusion, interestingly the parishioners of Arnprior were indirectly lead to Believe that Fr Miller was experiencing burn out!!! How misinformed we were!

        • Lina says:

I agree the mother did good to go to the Bishop.

Yes, we do realize now about being misinformed about the reality of Fr. Dan Miller medical problems.
It’s safe to say it was more than a burn out. It looks more and more about damage control.

I remember reading at this site about another mother when she was told by her son what Msgr. Robert Borne did.
She went to face Borne but he denied everything. Many of us know what happened at his trial.

Fr. Dan Miller, how can anyone trust him or believe the words that comes out of his mouth.

The Pembroke Diocese knows a lot more about certain burn outs.

Oh when, oh when will these other cases will be revealed? Tick tock, tick tock,…!

  2. PJ says:

And his cowardly defense lawyer hides his face…IN SHAME I hope.

    • Jean-Louis says:

I’ve never seen a defense lawyer hide his face! What’s up with that??? Even the most heinous criminals have lawyers… I guess Robert Carew is not looking for any more business…

  3. Rose says:

Your doing a great job of reporting this. Much better then the local news.
To think he did it under his own mothers roof and she didn’t know. His mother must be furious or at least one would think she would be. As someone else said I wonder how many more victims there are? Those who came forward are very brave and with any luck his days of molesting children are over. It takes a lot of courage to tell their stories in court. This happens all to often. Children should never have to go through anything like this.

  4. Lina says:

    Sylvia,

I don’t understand why the Bishop is not seen at these different court proceedings with his priests who are in trouble.

Fr. Peter Proulx was the one who was at the Bernard Prince trial. Also at Msgr. Robert Borne and some court proceedings of Fr. Dan Miller.

Fr. Proulx is not there now because of health issues. (heart)

I feel sorry for Fr. Proulx, it’s not easy for him to go through all that court stuff and listen and take in what his brother priests did to all those victims.

I spoke with a Catholic deacon’s mother. She said Fr. Proulx was tired of this court stuff with all these priests and wish the Bishop himself would do more.
That poor Fr. Proulx said he couldn’t wait to even retire. Well look at the condition he’s in now. Fr. Proulx is not doing well, Sylvia.

Now the Bishop has Msgr. D. Bridge. This priest had unsuccessful back operations. Takes medicine for his pain condition. He’s not in that good shape.

Many of the Bishop’s other priests are ill, tired and just plain burning out.

I know of one priest who just up and left.

Sylvia, I wouldn’t be surprise if a priest just plain lost it and told the Bishop to take this job and shove it.
