New contact form

I am in the process of setting up a new contact form on Sylvia’s Site.  The previous two which were on the right-hand side were experimental pending my discovery of something more practical.  I have discovered that both forms created confusion in that people who contact me often erroneously assume that I know which page they are on when they send the email and hence which article or priest they are referring to.

I have now temporarily disabled the two old contact links/forms and have added a “Contact Sylvia” link to the menu.  You will see the link on the horizontal black and white menu bar under the picture above.  This is a trial.  For the convenience of those who are not familiar with  Sylvia’s Site  I am now attempting to put a similar Contact Sylvia link on the side bar.

This new contact form has what is called a CAPTCHA Code.  Those who send an email are required to copy the code in that little box before submitting their email.  This prevents automated spam emails which are computer generated and not from a human being.  I get a lot of those, so using the CAPTCHA would make life easier for me 🙂  However, I am well aware that sometimes CAPTCAHA codes are a real nuisance and we humans have as mucha  time recognizing the code as do machines!  I don’t what this CAPTCHA code is like.  If it is reasonable and does not cause countless headaches I will use it with the new Contact Sylvia page. If however it is a pain, I will disable it.  So, please test it for me and let me know what you think 🙂  You can just send an email with the subject line marked as TEST – no need to feel in the Message box unless you just want to say “Hi” 🙂

I will get back to sorting out how to get that Contact Sylvia link duplicated on the side bar and get this little experiment under way 🙂

Enough for now,

Sylvia

I’m looking for information on a priest that may have abused some of my schoolmates in the 1970’s. He is father Lebel and was at St-John Bosco parish in Dalhousie, NB during the period between approx. 1972 and 1978.
Any suggestions on where to start?

Have you checked Sylvia’s listed names for him? What about a Google search? That could generate some hits for you to follow.

PJJ is right re google search. It would probably be good if you can conduct a search in French.

Check old newspapers for media coverage. There are often articles and/or obituaries which reference the name of a priest.

newspapers.com is often a great help. They offer a seven day free trial.

Check the local library. Parishes frequently publish a history of the parish to commemorate a 50th or 60the anniversary.

If you have access to a library at a Catholic university you may find old copies of the Canadian Catholic Church Directory.

If he was at a church in Dalhousie then he was probably a priest with the Diocese of Bathurst. You need to know that, plus you will need to find out what his first name is, and then ideally the date of his ordination to the priesthood.

I suggest that you really do need to get his first name.

      Good luck Andre.
