R v. Hartnell will not proceed 27 February in Victoria. I had a call this afternoon advising that it is adjounred. The rest of the aft. tied into cancelling my husband’s flight (able to do so with full refund :)) and a long and extremely long-overdue chat with my dear friend Helen Dunlop. How could I be on the Island and not see Perry and Helen Dunlop? 🙂 My husband and I were both looking forward so much to seeing them, and their three beautiful daughters. Those are the silver linings I often talk about. So, a good chat with Helen, and all is well.
This evening I will contact my brother – he was taking time off work so we could have a few days together.
Ah well, a timely reminder yet again about what can happen to the best laid plans of mice and men 🙂
Sorry, not much accomplished on the site today.
I must say that as much as I was anticipating the news its has thrown me for a bit of a loop. My goodness, my husband and I were supposed to in the air a week today! I was going to haul up suitcases tomorrow so I could start sorting out what to pack for the balmy Island weather. I was not for a moment looking forward to taking the stand, but, the silver lining there was opportunity to see family and friends.
Now I await word of the next scheduled court date. I think I should know by end month. Next time around I will be fully cognisant of the fact it may just be postponed and will ensure that no one on the West coast books time off work in advance.
Another learning experience 🙂
Enough for now,
