Here’s the latest on Father William Hodgson Marshall and his Saskatoon Saskatchewan charges.  You may recall that the Saskatchewan file was transferred to Ontario.

Now, this is bizarre!

Marshall had a court date in Windsor Ontario this morning.  I just had a call from John MacDonald (he drove to Windsor to be in the courtroom).  Well, a new date has been set:  16 October 2012 at 09:30 am.  This date is to possibly set a date for resolution.  Stress “possibly.”  According to John, Andrew Bradie (Hod’s lawyer) requested the new date and it was he who stressed the word “possibly.”  The Crown agreed as did the judge.  The whole thing was over and done with in less than 10 minutes.

Now, Hod is due to be released from jail 08 October.  That means that come 16 October Hod will be out of jail.  With Hod out of jail the potential for a guilty plea with assurance of a few weeks sentence to run concurrent with his current time will be gone.

And, listen to this.  John approached the Crown to ask why the Saskatoon charges were transferred to Ontario.  According to John, the Crown said that Hod can only plead guilty to the charges here in Ontario.  If Hod decides to plead not guilty the whole case goes back to Saskatoon for trial.

So, what the heck is happening?  If indeed Hod’s only option in an Ontario court is to plead guilty then that would have been understood when the hankering went on to get the files transferred here, would it not?  And, if that’s the case, then why has he not entered a guilty plea? Why was it not done months ago?

Remember that Hod was the beneficiary of a ‘sweet deal’ which assured/assures him no further charges in Ontario in exchange for a his previous guilty?  A really sweet deal is is indeed, but ….no, it doesn’t cover Saskatchewan .   So the Sask. files were transferred here, and now we hear that he is supposed to plead guilty because, even though there is a promise of no more Ontario charges this is a Sask. charge and for whatever reason and under whatever circumstance the only thing Hod can do in Ontario is plead guilty to these charges or away he goes to Sask. to stand trial.

I don’t know if I’m explaining this very well?

Anyway, the bottom line is, if there is supposed to be a “guilty” plea for this to heard in Ontario, why is it dragging on and on and on?  Why did ‘they’ not teleconference today- pipe Hod in and let him state his intent to plead guilty?  Or why not transport Hod from Joyceville to Windsor to enter his guilty plea?

This makes no sense.  What am I missing?

Enough for now,

Sylvia

    Sylvia,

We are all missing the truth. That doesn’t seem to be part of the Basilian agenda. Are they hoping he will die before they face more financial threats? I don’t know what to think of our judicial system.

I too drove to Windsor for the circus in court. Hardly worth the trip. I doubt that I will go back in October.

Perhaps they did not want to have any activity in the court room if they thought there would be another deomonstration outside.

Whos knows? Another “sweet deal” in the making.

I hope the healing process is going well for the other victims. I have gone through twelve sessions with my counsellor over the last few months and have certainly found it easier to deal with the nightmares that have been a nightly activity since 1954. They are still there but far less violent than they used to be. I encourage anyone that has not gone for help to do so. With the right counsellor assistance is there.

Best of luck to you Sylvia and thank you for your continued support.

    Jerry

Good to hear from you Jerry, and am so happy hear that your counseling sessions are slowly but surely making a difference.

I hope that if it is at all in the cards for you that you do make that trip to the courthouse in October.  It is so important that ‘they’ know people are watching. It is so important that ‘they’ know that people really do care.  And, I dare say it’s important for the complainants out in Saskatchewan who, even though they are the complainants in this particular case, have as yet have been unable to attend any of the proceedings here in Ontario.

I wish Windsor were a few hundred miles closer.  I’d see you there for sure Jerry 🙂

    *Sylvia,

I received a call from the parole board this afternoon. Marshall will be released on the 5th of October. They will let him out before the holiday on the 8th. There is no real excuse for him not to appear in court on his own. They don’t want to inconvenience him. The system is garbage. I will get to Windsor one way or the other.

    All the best dear lady.

Jerry it will be good to see you again. I booked the 16th of October off the very second that I got back last time. I have a few more questions to throw at the Crown that is handling the case, my #1 question being…….How is it that the taxpayers of Ontario are paying for Marshalls’ lawyer (Brady) to be playing legal gymnastics, asking for and recieving 2 delays for a case that belongs in the province of Saskatchwen?

    Jerry;
Please let me know the exact address of the courthouse in Windsor, and what time is the hearing.
I am off work that day, and I may very well be able to go to Windsor.
            Thanks.   Mike

    Mike,

Sorry I took so long to respond to your question. I have been out of service for a few days. Not my computer…ME!

I don’t have the exact address but it is right next or across the street from the downtown police station. It depends on which courtroom they hold the session. Others might have more detail on the court schedule. It is right near the casino. I park in the casino indoor lot and walk over.

You can always reach me on my cell phone if you are in the area. (519) 241 8165.

    Jerry
