Bags are packed

Here I am again, bags all packed and ready to go 🙂

Sorry I haven’t responded to comments and have done little in the way of posting articles.  I have said before that one I get at the computer and onto the site I lose track of time.  I just didn’t dare allow myself to do more than monitor comments and approve those in moderation, and get a couple of articles up.

A lot of time this weekend dedicated to get out GPS fully functional.  We bought a model with lifetime maps, but the maps were not downloading . I thought they were, but, they weren’t.  So, much time taking pictures of the box the GPS came in, and digging out and  photocopying proof of purchase, and then I couldn’t submit the email with attachments, and the offices were closed on Sunday so couldn’t pick up the phone.  It was taken care of today, and all is well and TomTom is programmed and ready to go.

The next major item to be dealt with today was the emails on my laptop.  In th epast I have been unable to send emails from either my personal email or the emial box for Sylvia’s Site.  I was never gone too long so I didn’t worry about it too much.  I hate calling customer service and waiting an waiting and waiting.  Plus the last few times I called I was told that I couldn’t get help for the email service for the site.

Given the amount of time I will be gone I decided I had best be able to send emails while I’m away.  I didn’t even consider asking for help for the other.

Well, my goodness, I had a young lad help me through who was fantastic.  I was bale to send emails from my personal email.  I decided to just give a try and ask if he could do anything to allow me to send emails from the site email.

In a jiffy the problem was resolved.  I can now send and reply to emails on both accounts.

There was one wrinkle with all of this.  Every email I replied to or sent over the last few months while on the road was sitting int he Outbox, waiting!  As soon as things were fixed, away they went.

So, if you receive a very outdated email from me, that is why. My apologies.  It never crossed y mind to check the Outbox before the technician went to work 🙁

I think I am all set now and should be able to reply to emails.

I will keep tabs on things, and will post articles while I am gone.  I won’t put links in the articles.  I like to do that because it allows those who are new to an on-going story to get some backgrounder, but it’s difficult to do that with the small laptop screen, and, for that matter, with only one screen.  So, I will get articles up when I can, but probably will forgo the links.

Those who are new to Sylvia’s Site and/or posting a comment for the first time will see that your comment is held for moderation.  That allows me to keep spam out.  Once your first comment has been approved you will be able to post in real time.  Because I will be on the road and/or busy for the next 10 days it may be a few hours before I have opportunity to check emails and comments, but, it will get done, at least once a day. I will also make note of upcoming court dates. I will be relying on all of you to keep track of outcomes of court-dates, and to post links to media coverage.

James, we will follow your directions for the trip.  Many thanks.

Leona, glad to see you were able to post.  For whatever reason your last comment from your computer went to moderation.  I approved, so you really should be alright now.  I hope so.  Out of sheer curiosity, and for future reference, I would be interested in knowing what the problem was

Also nice to see that others have found Sylvia’s Site, particularly those who endured abuse at the hands of the Rosminians.   Wayne Mollison is Canadian.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Finally, there has been some very good blogging in the past few days.  Keep talking everyone.  Keep talking.

I am going to catch a few winks now.  I will check in this evening from who knows where.  We will drive until dusk – hopefully will make good time and be able to get to our destination in Nebraska around supper time, or at least early evening on Thursday.

Enough for now,

Sylvia

    FYI – Rev.Jose Silva is now a fugitive – fled to Brazil – warrant issued…….Hamilton Spec 07/10/12

Warrant issued for fugitive Hamilton priest

A former Hamilton priest facing a sex charge has become a fugitive.

According to court documents a bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of Rev. Jose Silva.

Rev. Jose Silva, 34, a popular former parish priest at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, is facing a sexual assault charge in connection with a Sept. 18, 2011 incident. An 18-year-old musician told police he had been assaulted in the priest’s residence during a festival that day.

The Diocese of Hamilton announced Silva’s resignation in October. A statement issued by the church said Silva “has further indicated that he no longer wishes to remain in pastoral ministry in this country” and wanted to return to his native Brazil.

A warrant for Silva’s arrest was issued after he failed to make a regularly scheduled court appearance on May 9.

Silva was released on $3,500 bail on Sept. 23, 2011.

*That explains why I received a baffling but very welcome email from you, dated September 2011.
