Remembrance Day!
We went to a Remembrance Day service in a small local community – time to remember all those who so bravely fought for our cherished freedom. Time to think of my Dad who sailed the Murmansk Run. He never talked about it. I am proud of him.
Time to think of my husband’s young uncle who died on a training mission in England toward the end of WW II. I never knew him, but, I am proud of him.
May they, and the souls of all those who sacrificed so much for us, rest in peace.
Lest we forget….

I am working on a page for Christian Brother Gerard Kevin Barry. Barry is one of many who were convicted for the sex abuse of boys at the Mount Cashel orphanage.
I think I will have to open a special page with a list of those charged for molesting boys at Mount Cashel. It will be easier to keep track of them if they are listed together with links to their pages.
In fact, I may just create a Newfoundland page. On that I would list clergy with links to the various pages, (2) ditto for Christian Brothers, and (3) ditto for other prominent Catholics. It would be easier for us all to keep track of them all.
I was surprised to see that John Lawlor, the son of the former head of the RNC (also John Lawlor) was charged and acquitted. John Lawlor (jr) was a former Christian Brother. His father was head of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in 1975 when the Mount Cashel investigation came to a premature and grinding halt.
I see too that an electrician with the Roman Catholic School Board was charged and convicted.
I have a list of 11 names right now. This will keep me busy for a few days for sure.
I have come across two who, like Brother Edward French, at one time taught at St. Bonaventure College. In fact, some of these fellows were teaching all over Canada and in some cases throughout North America.
It’s chilling.
I will take a break from it all right now and carry on later
Enough for now,
Sylvia
