I have added a few pictures which I took while in Windsor. This is the first batch: one of the Detroit skyline, and the others of Assumption College Catholc High School.
Why the picture of the Detroit skyline? Because I personally was surprised and struck by the fact that Detorit truly is a mere stone’s throw across the river from Windsor. That means that when, for example, Father Leo Campbell csb was serving in Detroit he could travel back and forth to help out at the Columbus Boys Camp with relative ease. And it also means that when he was serving in Windsor he could hop over to Detroit in a flash. Campbell had a contingent of young boys from Detroit at his ordination, some whom he allegedly told the folks in Glace Bay Nova Scotia that he had adopted. There seems to be no sign that he did indeed adopt those lads, and no mention of them in his obituary. So, for what it’s worth, I can now see that when he was serving in Windsor and teaching at Assumption it would have been nothing for Campbell to dart across to Detroit.

I had always wondered if Justice Normand Glaude (commissioner of the Cornwall Public Inquiry) attended St. Charles in Sudbury, Ontario. It seemed that the majority of Catholic boys in the Sudbury area attended the Basilian-run St. Charles College.
Well, when a met some of the victims from Sudbury I asked if they knew if indeed Justice Normand Glaude attended St. Charles. Yes, indeed he did. I was told that in fact Normand Glaude was at St. Charles when “Father” Hod Marshall was teaching. Can someone confirm that for me please?
One way or the other, I would think Justice Normand Glaude has been following the prosecuation and conviction of Hod Marshall with interest.
And IF indeed Glaude was there when Hod was, did he too – as it seems all the boys did – know Hod as “Happy Hands”? If yes, and in light of what transpired at the Conrweall Public Inquiry, I really and truly can not help but wonder if way back then a very young Normand Glaude dismissed the inference inherent to “Happy Hands” as “rumour” and “innuendo”?

I have a few more pictures from Windsor, mostly from the two court dates, but also a couple of St. Anne’s Church and rectory in near-by Tecumseh where Bishop Eugene Larocque, Bishop Emeritus of Alexandria-Cornwall, is now serving and living respectively.
I have to compress the pictures for posting. I will get at that later and hopefully have them posted this evening.
I also have another Victim Impact Statement to post. I will get that posted later this evening too.
And, on that note, a reminder to a reminder to all victims who agreed to do so, and to those who are willing to do so, to please send me your Victim Impact Statements. If you prefer to have it posted with your name removed I will be happy to oblige. If your statement is hand-written could you get someone to scan it for you? Or, if you contact me I will give you my mailing address.
Please send your VIS to me at cornwall@theinquiry.ca, either as an attachment or copy and paste.
