Another one! Ex priest Gabriele Del Bianco has been charged with three counts of sexual assault. The charges relate to allegations of sex abuse of young girls in the early to mid 80s. Del Biaco has also been sued by six women alleging child sex abuse by Del Bianco.
My congratulations to those who found the courage to come forward. It is not an easy step to take, but it is a very important one. Good for you. Each and every one of you.
I must admit I am happy to see that charges have been laid. I realize that it is not always possible, but when it is I am a firm believer in the pursuit of justice through the criminal courts.
Well done!

I find it disturbing reading letters sent out of the Bishop’s office through its spokesperson Mark Atkinson, of how sorry they are for the pain its church caused. Further in this media release they encouraged other victims to come forward.
Thank goodness for these women, that Delbianco admitted his guilt. Finally we will see justice served through a criminal trial. I admire the courage these women had to bring this issue forward.
My sister emailed Mark Atkinson and told him what cowards the Diocese are. They only have a letter for the media to be released when a priest owns his criminal behaviour.
I hope the public understands that the Diocese does not operate that way with victims where their priest deny the allegations. They do not offer counselling, and they never apologize. Instead they hire high paying litigation fees to protect its reputation instead of dealing with the facts up front and offer true healing to its victims.
I am from Windsor, I did know Delbianco… from a distance. For those women who came forward, and for any others that are struggling on whether or not to come forward, please know that all of our hearts, thoughts, prayers and support are with you.
I am so sorry for what this man and his church has done to your lives. May justice finally be served in your honour.
