Father Jean-Claude Lefebvre has a court date today. Lefebvre, a late vocation and priest of the Diocese of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was charged late October or early November 2010. He faces two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference, two counts of sexual exploitation, two counts of invitation to sexual touching and one count of indecent assault on a male. The charges relate to his years as a married man and, after his wife’s death, his years in seminary.
Lefebvre denies the charges. Today’s court date is apparently to set dates for a preliminary inquiry. This seems to be amazingly fast, the way these cases should proceed.
If anyone hears word of the outcome of today’s proceedings please pass on the news.
Enough for now,
Sylvia
