Disappointed but not surprised

Those who have been following the site over the years know that from time to time I take a break to mull over something or other which I feel I need to address before carrying on.  That has been done.  A mini sabbatical 🙂

Now I am moving on to a mini vacation.  I head off bright and early tomorrow morning – will be gone until Monday evening.  I will have my laptop so will stay tuned into what’s happening on the site, blog when I can, and post any media which is of particular interest.

****

I was disappointed but not unfortunately surprised to see that yet another court date has been set for Father Hod Marshall csb.  I’m beginning to think there’s a revolving door in every courthouse designated for these “alleged” clerical molesters and/or their legal teams.  It’s fine and dandy to talk ad nauseam about the rights of “alleged” molesters to speedy trial, but what of their “alleged” victims?  Do they not warrant a speedy trial?  Besides, I would think Father Marshall would be keen to get this to trial and get it over with.  If he’s planning a guilty plea, then lets’ hear it and spare the victims any further agaony.  If he’s denying, well, then I would think he would be keen to clear his ‘good’ name?

So, why the delays?

It’s frustrating to watch.  I can only imagine what it is like for the “alleged” victims.  Keep them in your prayers.

I have to be up at 4 am so will close off now – have to update the Hod Marshall page with the new 13 October 2010 court date.

Enough for now,

Sylvia

I am troubled again by reading that one of your readers Lina no longer feels that she can express herself in a public forum, if things are ever to get better in the “catholic” world people need to express and vent, I for one certainly hope she will express her views again whether popular or not.

  3. Sylvia says:

Thank you for your kind words Clancy. Yes – all are well. And that sister of yours – as you well know, she’s one of a kind. What a privilege to know her.

    Snowdog & Sylvia,

There are many good hard working decent priests/clergy in the Roman Catholic Church.

I’ve learned, know matter what good many priests do,they will still give the benefit of the doubt and their allegiance to the Catholic Church.

Many will do anything to make sure the Church is always seen in the good light.

You have this denial, delay, deception, defiance mode going on countless times.

In my opinion ‘confrontation’ is like a F-word to the Catholic Church so to speak if you get my drift.

Sylvia, closed a thread at:’Post #42 under ‘Unwelcome news’, because she said:
“We are totally derailed here. This no longer has anything to do with clerical sexual predators.”

I totally agreed with her. Good.

I’m not going to start a conversation with a priest because this certain Lady thinks this priest might prefer I address any of my concerns to him.

(Sylvia said at: Post #42 the thread, “Unwelcome news:”… “Lina, no self-recriminations, O.K?”)

(Snowdog said; Post # 2 at this thread:…”I for one certainly hope she(Lina) will express her views again whether popular or not.”

Snowdog and Sylvia thank you for your posts.

    I’m good! (smiling)

    Sincerely,

    Lina

That`s good news Lina. A lot of people, myself included, would have missed you.

Lina, that’s not what I said! I said that if you have any concerns about Father Tim, you should address them with him. I wasn’t saying anything at all about just any old concerns…only those that involve him! Are you deliberately misunderstanding me or do we really have a communications problem here?

    Lady Janus,

    The subject topic is closed!

    Lina

  8. Lady Janus says:

Closed, Lina? When you keep talking about it, it’s not closed. When you deliberately spread malicious gossip about a man who has done you no harm, but who has only wished you well, it’s not closed. And when you deliberately lie about what I said, it’s not closed.

  9. Lady Janus says:

Aiding and abetting the thoughtless and deliberate smearing of a man of God, Sylvia. This is one of yours, so if you intend to allow her to get away with it, you have to own part of it yourself.

  10. Lady Janus says:

And you might consider it to be closed here. But it’s not closed anywhere else.
