Murray Segal, Deputy Attorney General, is testifying.
Ah, uhm, ah, er…..
Tune in to get the flavour first hand.
I am having a hard time getting the right word. The impression I get is that Segal wants the world to know he considered Garry Guzzo an insufferable fool. At this point, I do believe that Segals’s asides about Guzzo are, if not condescending, deprecating..
The following have been posted:
28 January 2009: Lots to do before inquiry wraps up
29 January 2009: Cops never contacted about abuse
29 January 2009: Last day of testimony at the inquiry
Re the “Last day of testimony..” post, I could swear when I first listened to that audio clip I heard Peggy Parker say that Cornwall will be the safest place to raise children. When I went back to transcribe the clip I heard nothing about “safest place” but I believe it was right where I have inserted the “?” I may be mistaken and confused. I see however Mrs. Parker is referenced as saying so much in the text which accompanies the clip.
Hope springs eternal!
Later today I will post the Robin’s Report which received high profile yesterday. I don’t have the list of the 101 recommendations but there is a bit of a recap in the final chapter of the report. Apparently of the 101 recommendations only somewhere in the order of 25% have been given heed – a reminder for all that that’s what tends to come of inquiry reports (the Robins Report was Justice Robins report on his inquiry into a case of sexual abuse in a Sault Ste. Marie school.)
I will also post the Ontario Catholic Teacher’s Association decision re Marcel Lalonde which was kindly sent my way.
Here’s where Robert Sabourin was in 1979. This is after he was allowed to quietly resign from his teaching duties at La Citadelle in Cornwall. Penetanguishene is a small community directly North of Toronto on the tip of Georgian Bay, Ontario.
Who, I wonder, gave Sabourin’s references?
We heard from former Superintendent Jean-Paul Scott yesterday that if had pictures he could perhaps have taken further action! He and school principal Jeannine Seguin presumably did not confront Sabourin. Nor did they contact police. Nor did they contact CAS. Nor did they seem to take into account the fact that Mrs. Sabourin was obviuosly not afriad to speak out. Nor did they ask who was in the pictures which Sabourin shredded after he knew his wife was about to take action.
And Sabourin merrily moves on to Penetanguishene!
How disgusting does it get?!
Must keep an eye and ear on Segal.
Enough for now,
