More power to anyone in the Wave Shed who thinks they will or may get retired OPP D/Insp. Pat Hall off the stand in the super timely fashion which is now demanded.
I’m not quite sure how to describe what I am seeing and hearing. Hall is verbose. He is long winded. He seems to want to commandeer the examination-in-chief.
Yesterday’s request that Hall would like to start early and finish by 4:30 pm each day was perhaps a sign of things to come.
Commission counsel Peter Engelmann has his work cut out for him and then some. At one point this morning Engelmann had posed a question about the time it took for Hall to get around to investigating the death threats against Perry Dunlop. Away Hall went – they were setting up the team, there was a murder investigation, there was this, he had to do that, and on and on and on. Engelmann finally interjected to suggest the short answer. Hall concurred, – and away he went again.
That aside I must say Hall is yet another police officer who can scarce veil his animosity for Perry Dunlop. I am surprised. Not particularly at the animosity – I do believe now that the Cornwall Police Service line on Perry as the rogue cop preceded him, as did the word that David Silmser was an incorrigible lying money grubber. What does surprise me is that Hall is apparently incapable of concealing his animus and disdain. It’s quite disturbing to put it mildly.
Anyway, they’re back from their first break and away we go again. Look for excuses, excuses, excuses, – and finger pointing and character assassination and spin. Right at this moment even the infamous ice storm has been pulled out of the hat and become fodder to rationalize the months upon months upon months it took him to investigate the death threats against Perry.
Enough for now,
Sylvia
