Perry has now spent 126 days in jail – for stepping up to the plate to protect children, and then daring to say he has lost faith in the justice system. This is the institutional response to allegations of childhood sexual abuse.
Hearings resume at 1400 hours (2 pm) this afternoon, Monday, 23 June 2008. It was supposed to be 1 pm but has changed.
The witness roster for the week is as follows:
Motion for an Order Excusing Ronald Lefebvre – Cornwall Community Police Services
Joseph St. Denis – Former Deputy Chief of Police, Cornwall Community Police Service
Anthony Repa – Former Chief of Police, Cornwall Community Police Services
Father Denis Vaillancourt (Chancellor of the diocese)
Note the “Coffee Grinds” section of Claude McIntosh’ 21 June 2008 article:
“Mike Oliver, former Cornwall labour activist and retired jail guard, checks in from Nanaimo, B. C., where he now resides.”
Did Oliver by chance pen the 12 June 2008 Letter to the Editor or Opinion Piece or whatever? The one which starts: “After reading Claude McIntosh’s nice article (Coffee Break June 7) about Father Gary Ostler I was compelled to share some facts about Father Gary being slander on a website.”
According to his CV Ottawa lawyer David W Scott is a member of the Thomas More Lawyers Guild of Ottawa. That makes Colin McKinnon, Father Frank Morrissey and Justice Denis J Power. I believe Garry Guzzo was also a member in the early day of the guild.
David W Scott has represented the Diocese of Alexandria-Cornwall in the past and, though rarely visible, is part of the team mounting the diocese’s defence at the Cornwall Public Inquiry.
Software was glitchy this morning. It’s taken some time but I finally posted some information on the St. Thomas More Lawyer’s Guild of Ottawa. As I say on the post, a little more on who with Cornwall connections knows who.
Connections, connections, connections 🙂
Enough for now,
