BERLIN, Conn. — An arrest warrant affidavit alleges that a Connecticut Roman Catholic priest who was arrested last month had repeated conversations about sex acts with a 13-year-old boy on Facebook and in text messages.
The warrant for the Rev. Michael Miller, a Franciscan friar at St. Paul’s Church in Berlin, was unsealed Tuesday. It says Miller confessed to starting the conversations and to offering oral sex to the boy.
Miller was charged last month with five counts of felony risk of injury to a minor and one count of misdemeanor attempted obscenity. The Archdiocese of Hartford has suspended him pending the outcome of the case.
Miller, who posted $150,000 bail, couldn’t be reached for comment. His lawyer, William St. John, didn’t immediately return a message Wednesday.
