Ontario’s Roman Catholic schools will have to teach a revamped sex ed curriculum that has drawn fire from family values groups.

Premier Dalton McGuinty says all publicly funded schools must teach the curriculum, which will see Grade-3 students encouraged to avoid the terms “husband” and “wife” because they exclude homosexual partnerships.

Starting this fall, the revised curriculum will also see teachers talking to students as young as 12 learning about various sexual activities.

McGuinty suggests teachers should be the ones to counteract inaccurate information from friends or the internet.
