Investigation into Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Priest Ongoing: RCMP

The police investigation into allegations of criminal behaviour by a priest who was stationed in this province is moving forward. RCMP Major Crimes is looking into reports of offences during the priest’s tenure in the Corner Brook and Labrador Roman Catholic Archdiocese some years ago. The priest was serving at a church on Prince Edward Island when the allegations came to light. Officers say the investigation is a slow process as they interview individuals across Canada who have come forward. RCMP say a number of people have said they were victimized by the priest, but no charges have been laid.
