WINDSOR, Ont. — Former Windsor high school principal Rev. William Hodgson (Hod) Marshall has been charged with two counts of indecent assault in Toronto. 

The charges stem from an alleged incident in 1953, when the Basilian priest was teaching and coaching basketball at St. Michael’s College school. 

Police said the former student alleges Marshall asked the boy, then 15, to go into a private room, where he was sexually assaulted. 

Marshall, now 88, is facing six additional charges of indecent or sexual assault for incidents alleged to have occurred in Windsor during the 1950s and ’80s. 

The priest taught at Assumption College school from 1954-56 and Holy Names high school from 1985-89. 

Toronto police Const. Tony Vella said there may be more victims in Toronto. 

“We believe there will be more charges,” he said. 

“We’re urging anyone that may have been victimized by the man to come forward.”

An elderly man has been charged in a sexual assault case dating back to 1953.

Police allege the accused worked as a school teacher at St. Michael’s College during the fall of 1953.

“The accused was coaching an after-school basketball program,” police stated in a news release. “He asked a student, a 15-year-old boy, to come into a private room at the school.”

The boy was allegedly sexually assaulted in the room.

William Hodgson Marshall, 88, has been charged with two counts of indecent assault. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 3.

A priest embroiled in a sex scandal in Windsor has been accused of assaulting a former student at Toronto’s St. Michael’s College in 1953.

And police said they believe there could be more victims.

According to investigators, Reverend William Hodgson Marshall was coaching an afternoon basketball program at St. Mike’s when he assaulted a 15-year-old.

The 88-year-old turned himself into officers at 52 Division on Wednesday morning, where he was charged with two counts of sexual assault.

In Windsor — Marshall faces one count of sexual assault and five counts of indecent assault involving six victims.
