A former priest who served in the Dalhousie area will face theft-related charges in court next month.
Yvon Doiron is charged with stealing more than 100,000 dollars between 1997 and 2006.
The 62 year old ran the parish in Dalhousie and a total of four churches. He will be back in a Campbellton Court room March 12.
This is not the first time Doiron has made headlines about 4 years ago Doiron and the Bathurst Diocese were sued by a Dalhousie resident for 110,000 thousand dollars.
Béatrice Lavoie says that is the total Doiron borrowed from her starting in 1998 and had not paid back – though the case was settled more than two years ago.
Lavoie says she is still shaken by the experience but knows nothing about the current criminal charges.
