CAMPBELLTON – The sentencing of former Dalhousie priest Charles Picot found guilty in May of indecent assault arising from an incident that happened more than 30 years has been adjourned until Aug. 23. Judge Ronald LeBlanc said in Campbellton Provincial Court on Friday that he was altered in a conference call Thursday night that Picot’s lawyer Gilles Lemieux was sick and unable to make it to court. Picot was convicted with committing the offence against John Derek Lapointe in August 1977 when the victim was a teenager. Picot had been a priest at St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church in Dalhousie.
