An Ottawa priest who taught at St. Pius X High School in the 1970′s has been sentenced to a nine-month conditional sentence after being convicted of indecent assault in relation to events between 1970 and 1976.
Father William Allen, who is in his 80′s, pleaded not guilty to the charges but did not contest the crown’s evidence. The Roman Catholic suspended Allen after he was charged last summer.
Ottawa Archbishop Terrence Prendergast says he’ll consider whether further disciplinary action is necessary.
