Hallelujah!

A guilty verdict!!

Father Denis Vaillancourt    has been convicted.

Thank you “Craig” (pseudonym).  Thanks to your courage, and the courage of your family, Father Denis Vaillancourt has been exposed for what he is:  a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Such a blessed relief.

Sentencing is scheduled for November:

09 November 2017:  09:00 am, sentencing, courtroom #6, Cornwall Ontario courthouse (29 Second St. W.)

Please continue to keep “Craig” and his family in your prayers.

Enough for now,

Sylvia

  1. BC says:

Given the low conviction rates for such crimes, this is great news.
The victim and his loved ones need to know that their shame and their humiliation for having to publicly disclose having been manipulated by Father Vaillancourt were not in vain. I don’t know whether or not Father Vaillancourt will appeal his conviction or if he’ll be posing as a victim to mitigate his sentence. I would be very surprised if Father Vaillancourt manned-up owned his criminal behaviour and sincerely regretted it.

Father Vaillancourt needs to be kept away from vulnerable persons. He should not be allowed to be close to a charitable donation. And he should be defrocked. Given his prominent role within the Church this verdict is the indictment of the clericalism which contributed to the institutional cover-up of clerical abuse in Eastern Ontario.

Well spoken BC! Laicization should be immediate, but likely not given the church history with these matters. Mike.
