A chance for those in the Thunder Bay area to mark your calendars.  The date for a Preliminary Hearing for Father Peter Groulx has been set:

15 June 2015 : 10 am, Preliminary Hearing, Thunder Bay, Ontario courthouse (125 Brodie Street North. Thunder Bay, Ontario)

The hearing, which is essentially a hearing whereby a judge determines if there is sufficient evidence to go to trial,  IS open to the public.  As with all such hearings in Ontario, there will a publication ban on all testimony and evidence, which means of course that the media will be able to attend, but will not be able to report on the testimony.

At this point it is known only that the hearing will last one day.  Depending on what the evidence and what happens in the courtroom it may be extended beyond one day.

The  six charges against Father Groulx, a priest with the Diocese fo Thunder Bay, Ontario, were laid October 2014.  The incidents date to 2003-2005 in Terrace Bay, Ontario.

Please keep the complainant in your prayers.

Yes, there is more information to come on the St. Mary’s International School sex abuse scandal and cover-up.  I am taking a brief break 🙂 Meanwhile, please, as always,  keep the victims in your prayers.

Enough for now,

Sylvia
