We now have coverage of day two of the second Father Dan Miller sex abuse trial.  Both papers publish on Wednesdays hence the delay.

22 October 2014:  Priest denies charges of child sexual abuse

22 October 2014:   Priest claims no recollection of victim denies molestation allegation

Nothing from the Pembroke Observer!

I started jotting some notes of my observations from Friday past at the Pembroke courthouse.  Hopefully I will get that together and posted over the next few days.

Mark your calendars…

Justice Martin James will render his verdict at 10 am, 03 December 2014 in the Pembroke courthouse.

Please keep the complainant in  your prayers.  I have no doubt that Friday was an extremely  difficult day for him.  The whole morning was a verbose and often muddled Father Miller denying that he,  Miller, knew the complainant, and denying that he,  Miller, would do such awful things. Not easy to watch and hear.

Pray that justice is done.

Father Omer Desjardins omi will appear in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan circuit court for sentencing tomorrow morning:

23 October 2014:  10 am, for sentencing, Blaine Lake circuit court, 107 Main Street, Community Hall, Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan

This one really has flown under the radar.  Desjardins, charged in September 2014, entered a guilty plea in amazingly short order.  There was no media coverage.

I was told that tomorrow’s court date is for sentencing.  I think that may include a sentencing hearing first?

If anyone has any information please pass it along.

I encourage those who are free to do so to attend.

Please keep the victim in your prayers.

Enough for now,

Sylvia
