More charges have been laid against convicted molester Father Levi Noel (Diocese of Bathurst, New Brunswick)

06 April 2011:  Former N.B. priest faces 2 new sex charges

As always, I commend the complainant who summoned the courage to go to police.  It’s not an easy step.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as these charges move forward.

Speaking of Bathurst, nothing but silence on the Bathurst Diocese/Bastarache settlement.  What’s happening?  Have the victims received their settlements?  Why the deafening silence?

I have added a page with further information on Father Edward Sutton

Father Sutton was acquitted.  It seems that Justice Wells could not find corroboration of the complainant’s allegations, and that he was perhaps taken by Sutton’s  character witnesses, leading the judge to conclude that Sutton was a  “man of highest standards and excellent character.”

Note that the complainant alleged he was molested by Sutton at the home of Father John Corrigan. Only months earlier Father Anthony Bennett pled guilty to one charge of sex abuse of a minor which transpired at the home of Father John Corrigan.

I really would love to see the transcipt from the short two-day Sutton trial.

That aside, does anyone know why Sutton’s address in the 1997 & 1998 Canadian Catholic Church Directories was that of the Diocesan Centre?  Was he actually working in the Diocesan Centre? or, was he elsewhere?  If anyone can help please posta comment or send me an email at cornwe

Engouh for now,
