Hearings resume at 0930 hours (9:30 am EST) this morning, Friday 07 March 2008. S/Sgt. Garry Derochie (Cornwall Police Service) will return to continue his evidence.

There is a severe winter storm moving in some time this afternoon or evening and continuing throughout Saturday. Predictions are 30 to 50 cms snow! A big one! The plan therefore at the Weave Shed is to recess by or around noon to ensure the gathered throng can catch their planes trains and automobiles and head for their respective homes before they become weather bound. Lead commission counsel Peter Engelmann plans to elicit testimony from Derochie regarding the CPS response to sex abuse allegations against Earl Landry Jr. Landry Jr., son of former Chief Early Landry, is a convicted paedophile.

Hearings will then recess until Monday 31 March 2008 – lots of time to go through, capture and post the salient points of Derochie’s testimony to date.

Perry was still at the Toronto East Detention centre yesterday afternoon. Apparently it takes a couple of days to get the paperwork in order to execute his transfer. I do hope that he is en route by this afternoon before the storm hits. Failing that he will be weather bound until after the storm sweeps through. If that’s the case he probably won’t be in Ottawa until at least Monday. As far as surroundings go that probably makes little difference. However Helen had used up Perry’s two fifteen-minute visits for the week and headed to Cornwall pending Perry’s arrival in Ottawa. She is scheduled to fly home to Duncan, BC on Sunday. I think it goes without saying she would like to see Perry settled in at the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre before her departure.

I talked to Perry yesterday. He sounded good. He has had that long awaited and overdue shower. He had a complete and most welcome change of clothing – clean underwear, socks and orange T-shirt and jump pants. He is receiving mail and enjoys ever letter and savours every word which comes his way. Part of yesterday’s mail included a letter and picture from little Shawna Deroy. The picture is Shawna’s rendition of Perry in his orange jump suit. He loves the picture Shawna. Your letter maybe took a while to finally get to Perry but it arrived at just the right time for him. I believe the picture brought a big smile to his face. He was certainly very happy telling me about it.

I posted the address for the Ottawa Carleton Detention Centre. Mail should reach him if addressed to:

Get the word out. Cards, letters and postcards to Perry. You have no idea how much that contact with friends and supporters means. Every single one is so deeply appreciated.

As I said, Perry sounded good. Amazingly good. It did my heart good to hear him. And, yes, the sense of humour is still there. He is a truly remarkable man. Would that there were a few more of his ilk in this country.

Something I neglected to mention. After Perry was whisked out of the courtroom on Wednesday there was some confusion. A number of people thought Justices Swinton and Ferrier had called for a recess. The thought was that we would be going back in.

John MacDonald, “alleged” victim of Father Charles MacDonald, was one of those who thought the court was in recess. He was convinced it was not over and anxious to get back in. Only later did I learn that John intended to address the court and offer to serve Perry’s time. He was extremely disappointed he missed the opportunity to stand for Perry.

I will add that the word I hear from the victims is that they are upset beyond measure.

Please note that Perry is being treated by the courts like a convicted paedophile. By the time they’re finished with him Perry will serve 18 to 21 months. His crime? He refuses to participate in or be party to a cover-up. Those are my words, not Perry’s. But one has only to look through the statements Perry and/or Helen have made over the past two to three years. It’s there. Contrary to the media’s selective extrapolations, it’s there. I will pull together all of the statements Perry and Helen have made over the past three years and get them posted together.

Anyway, look at this….

Convicted paedophile James Lewis got SIX MONTHS months for molesting Jamie Marsolais (scroll down). Lewis was out and about in 118 days. Good behaviour I suppose?

And note, convicted paedophile Michel Maybury is now out and about. He served 11 MONTHS for molesting a five-year-old boy!!! Eleven months!!!!!

Perry will “do” 18 to 21 months! The whistleblower will “do” more time than a convicted paedophile who molests little boys!!!! Unbelievable. And, mark my words, Perry will serve every single day. No bail for Perry. No time served for Perry. And, the way things are going, no out early on good behaviour for Perry.

Only in Canada!

And the honourable judges would have us believe that ít is Perry who has brought the administration of justice into disrepute?!!

Have you ever seen the likes of it?

Dear God in Heaven help us all. And keep Perry safe and strong.
