CAS/Tom O'Brien

Tom (Thomas) O’Brien

Tom O’Brien worked as a social worker with the Stormont Dundas Glengarry Children’s Aid Society from 1963 to 1990.  He became Executive Director in 1966, a postion which he held until his retirement in May 1990.

   

 Sometime in the late 90s Tom O’Brien became a member of the CAS Board of Directors.

Born in 1933 in Eganville, Ontario, O’Brien moved to Cornwall, Ontario, in 1959. 

 

Tom O'Brien received his post-secondary education at St. Patrick's College in Ottawa. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in 1955, his Bachelor of Social Work in 1957, and his Masters in Social Work in 1958. 

  

  O'Brien worked as a probation officer in Cornwall from 1959 to 1963. Tom O’Brien testified at the Cornwall Public Inquiry 21, 22 October 2008.
