Cornwall Public Inquiry

Accusations Of Repeated Failure At CAS-Inquiry

Cornwall News AM 1220

May 31, 2007 — A Cornwall Public Inquiry witness says the Children's Aid Society failed her repeatedly. Cathy Sutherland says she suffered sexual abuse in the 1960's at the hands of multiple adults while growing up in area, including her mother and foster father. Charges were never laid in relation to her allegations. She says she went to the Children's Aid Society over ten years ago so she could understand why it happened but had little luck. Sutherland says she was not able to see her complete CAS record until the inquiry began.
