CORNWALL PUBLIC INQUIRY RESEARCH RETENTION OPPORTUNITY – EXTENDED

Due to the schedules of many researchers, who are commonly in the academic community, the time for responses to research opportunities at the Cornwall Public Inquiry is extended to October 16, 2006. The original deadline had been August 10, 2006.

There are no other changes in the research; information on this research follows.

The Cornwall Public Inquiry is proceeding with planned Phase 1 research related to the work of the Inquiry. More information on the Inquiry can also be obtained at www.cornwallinquiry.ca.

Qualified academics and professional researchers are invited to submit an expression of interest in performing one or more of the identified research areas. Responses should be provided no later than October 16, 2006, in electronic form, to Colleen.Parrish@jus.gov.on.ca or in paper form to Colleen Parrish, Director of Policy, Cornwall Public Inquiry, 709 Cotton Mill Street, Cornwall, ON, K6H 7K7.

Those responding should indicate their qualifications in respect to the work, general approach to the work, their availability in terms of time and a cost and time estimate, which can include appropriate assumptions on scope of work. Researchers should have no conflict of interest in respect to the work of the Cornwall Public Inquiry.

Those acting in the capacity of Chief Researcher for any given project should be aware that if chosen to undertake this research, they may be required to give a summary of their research in direct examination and be available for cross-examination by parties. Such expert testimony would be the subject of a separate contractual agreement.

To discuss your interest and to obtain further information, please contact Colleen Parrish, Director of Policy, at Colleen.Parrish@jus.gov.on.ca or by call 613.938.2127.

All responses will be acknowledged. The Cornwall Public Inquiry will make its decision to retain researchers based on assessment of several factors: qualifications, time and cost of delivery, and research approach. The lowest quote will not necessarily be chosen.
