Some Document Discrepancies Unearthed During Testimony

Cornwall News AM 1220

June 27, 2007 — The latest witness at the Cornwall Public Inquiry says there are a number of discrepancies in some of the documents. Ron Leroux says he suffered abuse at the hands of various clergy members while growing up in the area. The 60-year-old man claims there are several errors in the statements he was questioned about yesterday. He says Perry Dunlop -- the former city cop credited with bringing to light sex abuse allegations in this area -- often interviewed him. Leroux admitted to lead commission counsel Peter Engelmann -- he did not read the statements before signing them (audio clip below). A couple of men were investigated in relation to Leroux's allegations but no one was ever charged.
