Cornwall Police Were Not Out To Get Dunlop: Repa

Cornwall News AM 1220

June 26, 2008 — A former Cornwall police chief says he is offended that some may believe the force was out to get Perry Dunlop. While testifying at the Cornwall Public Inquiry today, former chief Anthony Repa says he has too much respect for the justice system for that to happen and being fair to people has been his career. There have been accusations that officers turned their backs on Dunlop after he delivered a statement to the Children's Aid Society from an alleged child sex abuse victim. Repa says the suggestions are offensive. (Hear audio clip below) Dunlop is the former city officer who has been credited with uncovering child sex abuse allegations in the area. Repa's testimony continues.

[Transcript of audio clip: I find it offensive. I find it offensive not only to me but to my staff ( to the lawyer we retained). I can understand though that there are people out in the community that may have thought that but ( Mr. Horn) let me assure you, while I was Chief of Police, that never happened and it would never happen under my watch.]
