Dunlop gets whistleblower award today

Cornwall Standard Freeholder

25 October 2008

Former Cornwall police officer Perry Dunlop is set to receive a whistleblower award from an Ottawa organization for his role in getting the Cornwall Public Inquiry off the ground.

The Golden Whistle Award will be presented today in Ottawa at Biagio's Italian Kitchen.

Sylvia MacEachern, a Roman Catholic issues writer and inquiry blogger, is scheduled to receive the award on Dunlop's behalf.

Garry Guzzo, former provincial judge and MPP for Ottawa West-Nepean, will be the guest speaker at the award breakfast.

Dodger - do you not think the Freeholder should NAME the organization Dunlop has received the award from???
It's a National Whistleblower organization - Canadian's for Accountability headed by Alan Cutler...that kinda means something... but no - the Freeholder doesn't even name the organization - duh! No bias in the Freeholder's reporting huh?

Re: "Dodger" and "Reality Checker" above.

I remember a few months ago, when "Itinerant" somehow posted a comment using my "James Speak Out".."moniker". Remember? After demanding answers to questions, regarding the issue, the "S-F" chose to, not reply. However, "Itinerant" and "2sides" were "early leaving the gate", so-to-speak, claiming that "Itinerant" had written the comment and it had accidentally been posted under my "moniker", by error. "Itinerant" claimed, we had posted "at-the-same-time"....ya right!!

RealityChecker sorry I was in a playful mood and meant the comment as such guess it was not taken as playful I am sorry about that, it was all meant in jest. I was just now going through the posting I made in this blog and noticed. Again sorry if I offended anyone it was only meant in jest. I am not rude was just playing around.

And yes I believe they should name the organization that gave him that nomination. If it really did happen.

It did happen. He was awarded the Golden Whistle Award by Canadians For Accountability. It's a whistleblower organization out of Ottawa headed by Sponsorship Whistleblower - Alan Cutler. Kinda an offshoot of FAIR (Federal Accountability Initiative for Reform). Dunlop had a friend accept the award on his behalf and read his acceptance speech. Quite the honor - I'd say!
