Working group to meet to continue dialogue on building future of hope, trust and pride in Cornwall 

(Cornwall, ON) As a result of a positive community meeting in May that focused ondeveloping ways to build a future of hope, trust and pride in Cornwall, the AdvisoryPanel of the Cornwall Public Inquiry has scheduled a working group meeting to follow upon ideas and discuss the way forward. 

As part of its mandate, the Inquiry has been tasked with creating an environment to foster healing and reconciliation in the Cornwall community. Over the past year, theCommission, with the assistance of its Advisory Panel, has been engaged in developing a renewal agenda for Phase 2, focusing on “creating an environment of hope for thefuture”. The May meeting, which involved a large and diverse group of community representatives, launched a collective effort that began exploring initiatives to develop a healing environment in Cornwall. 

This meeting will bring together members of the community who have indicated aninterest in becoming part of the working group. The agenda will focus on priority setting.

Interviews may be conducted before the session begins or after it ends. Colleen Parrish, Policy Director for the Inquiry, will be in attendance and will serve as the Inquiry’s spokesperson.
