Cornwall Public Inquiry

Getting tired of Project Truth "three ring circus"

Letter to the Editor

Cornwall Standard Freeholder

04 September 2007

While watching the cross-examination of Keith Ouelette by the lawyer who represents the Cornwall police, I was saddened by the questioning of said lawyer.

By his view of the situation it seems that a person with mental illness or who has a drug or alcohol addiction should not be taken seriously.

This lawyer seems to make all these victims out to be raving lunatics and that the police department then has the right to dismiss all allegations brought to their attention whenever they feel the victim is unworthy.

My understanding for having this was to bring out the truth, not to victimize these men once more.

I am, and so are most people, tired of this whole three-ring circus (the inquiry).

The institutions should just explain what was done, or better yet, not done, and why.
