Cornwall Public Inquiry

Malcolm MacDonald

(Angus Malcolm MacDonald

  ODE to Malcolm MacDonald

 (Overview of Documentary Evidence)

Roman Catholic lawyer, former Crown Attorney and Knight of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.

Nearly two years after the fact stood trial on charge of obstruction of justice for the role he played in orchestrating the illegal $32,000 pay-off of David Silmser. MacDonald entered a guilty plea.  Justice B. W. Lennox gave him an absolute discharge, meaning he would have no criminal record. (Lennox moved on to become Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice, a position he held when Justice Normand Glaude was named commissioner for the Cornwall Public Inquiry.)

Malcolm MacDonald was later charged with two counts of indecent assault and one of gross indecency. He died 1999 in Fort Lauderdale Florida before standing trial, some say of questionable circumstances.

Malcolm MacDonald owned a cottage on Stanley Island which was said to be littered with gay porn.  The cottage was regularly visited by a number of men implicated in the Cornwall sex abuse scandal.

There is some blood relationship between Malcolm MacDonald and Cornwall Crown attorney Malcolm MacDonald.  I understood at one time they were cousins, then that Malcom was Murray's uncle.  I am no longer certain what the relationship is.
